“JAPAN Mini-Con – Online”Q&A

Hello everyone.
We would like to inform you about the “JAPAN Mini-Con Online”
which will be held from July 12 (Mon.) to 16 (Fri.), 2021.
The following are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the “Japan Mini-Con – Online”

Q1. Can I participate from my cell phone?

A1.

You can participate from your cell phone, tablet, or computer as long as you can install both Zoom and Discord, which are free online meeting applications.
Since you will be taking photos and uploading images of your work during the event, you may need to check your device’s free space and Wi-Fi environment beforehand.

Q2. I don’t know how to use Discord.

A2.

On the day of the tournament, we will start with Zoom.
At that time, we will explain and follow up on Discord, so don’t worry.

We will email you the discord invitation code and Zoom URL around 15:00 (JST) on Monday, July 12.

Q3. Do I need to contact you if I can’t attend a certain time due to circumstances?

A3.

No need to contact us.
This tournament will be held in a space that is open online (Discord) for 24 hours a day, so you can draw and interact with others whenever you want.

It would be great if you could participate in the events listed in the program, but if you can’t make it, please don’t feel pressured and enjoy the event at your own pace.

Q4. Do I have to put my face on the screen?

A4.

Submission of a photo and video connection is not mandatory.
Even if you don’t want to put your face on the screen, you are more than welcome to participate!
However, if you show your face, it will increase your chances of having your caricature drawn by one of the participants, so please consider it.

Q5. What is an art fight?

A5.

This is an opening event for the first day of this mini-con to ease the tension before the competition. You will have 10 minutes to draw a picture according to the theme and exercise your mind like a game.
Let’s have fun meeting each other!

Q6. Will there be an archive of the seminars?

A6.

Unfortunately, it is going to be difficult to keep it in the archives, so please join us if you can.

Q7. Can I post my drawings on social media?

A7.

Yes, that’s fine.
You may upload your favorite work or a work by another participant that impressed you.

Please use the hashtag #japanminicon to make the competition more exciting.

However, please note the following points
・Images of models to be used in the Likeness Competition
・Photos of participants who do not want their faces to be public
The following two images are not allowed to be posted.
Please be very careful when posting screenshots.

Basic competition rules and etiquette will be explained on the day of the event.
